Growing with Music
Between 15 months and 3 years, children experience extraordinary growth in language, movement, independence, imagination, and social interaction. Growing with Music uses music as a joyful and engaging way to support this exciting stage of development.
Through singing, movement, rhythm, instrument play, repetition, musical games, and imaginative activities, children become increasingly active participants in the music-making process. They begin to sing familiar words and sounds, imitate rhythms and movements, follow simple musical directions, anticipate what comes next, and make choices of their own.
Movement becomes an important part of the musical experience. Children walk, dance, clap, bounce, stop and start, explore different speeds and movements, and begin coordinating what they hear with what their bodies are doing.
Songs and musical activities also create natural opportunities to develop language, listening, memory, sequencing, coordination, social interaction, and confidence. Children learn through repetition while gradually becoming more independent and comfortable participating within a group.
Grown-ups continue to participate alongside their children, providing encouragement and connection while also giving little ones increasing space to explore, respond, and participate independently.
Why Active Music-Making Matters: During the toddler and preschool years, the brain is rapidly developing systems involved in language, memory, attention, movement, and social interaction. Research on shared musical activities has found connections between active music-making and skills such as social cooperation, rhythmic coordination, and communication. When children sing, imitate, remember movements, respond to musical cues, and make music with others, they are practicing many developing skills at the same time—all through an experience that feels like play.

Piano Lessons
Piano opens the door to a wonderful world of musical expression and personal growth. At Crescendo Music Studios, we love watching students discover their ability to read music, develop beautiful technique, and share their unique musical voice. Learning piano naturally nurtures qualities that serve children throughout life: focus, perseverance, dedication, and the deep satisfaction that comes from achieving something meaningful through practice and commitment.
Our lessons blend music fundamentals with the joy of playing pieces custom selected to match your child’s character and musical spirit. Students prepare for recitals while developing both technical skills and their own artistic voice - giving them the confidence to truly communicate through music.
For our youngest learners ages 5 and up, we welcome parents to stay and be part of the musical journey.
The parents presence during the lesson can help the little ones feel secure and confident, while also giving families the tools to make practice time at home enjoyable and successful.
